travelling in cars with pets
Planning ahead can make all the difference for you and your pets!
I was recently asked to create an article for the APBC (Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors) of whom I’m a full member, on going on car journey’s with pets. This was in light of some misinformation that as usual finds its way onto the internet and the clear need to outline for owners how to be successful and where to turn for help if not.

I’ve quite a few car phobia cases currently, dogs and cats can really struggle and restrictions during lockdowns haven’t helped where owners haven’t had the opportunity perhaps to implement travel training plans. One case I’ll write further about as a case study due with Buddy the Toy Poodle to all the intricacies involved including being reactive to the indicators, and would vocalise more intensely.
Twiggy below used to shake and vocalise and refuse to go past her car let alone get inside!
